Writers' Quotes

I don't usually post on Thursdays. But I think I'm going to use Thursdays to post writers' quotes. I love writing quotes, and I hope you'll enjoy them too.

Here's one of my favorites. It actually adorns my computer screen as my desktop.

"You can't wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club."

Jack London

  1. Probably a good method, so long as you don't club it to death!

  2. I really like this one from an agent who blogs:

    "We leave fingerprints all over our work. That part of you in your work is what makes it something that no one else can duplicate." - N. Bransford

    And this one... I cannot for the life of me remember where I saw it at (probably a blog. Possibly even yours), but I love it:

    “Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed.” - G. K. Chesterton

  4. as a amateur writer dabbling in epic fantasy, Chesterton's quote really spoke to me. It is still bothering me that I cant figure out where I found it at!

  5. I've actually gotten to see the Jack London quote on your desktop before!! Nifty.

    @abkeuser
    Maybe you should google the quote? I doubt that'll help much, though.

  6. Considering the ruggedness of Jack London's life and writing, I'd bet he literally did :)
