(I'm so thankful after I take the photo, I can run back into a cozy house. I'm very tempted to stand on the ice and see if it will hold me up. But the thought of plunging into deep, icy water keeps my feet on frozen ground.)
Hi there. This is very random, but I used to work with Chris Bucci when he was at CookeMcDermid agency and I read, and shared with him, one of your submissions (An Unquenchable Fire) years and years ago and still think of it from time to time. So curious to know if that ever turned into anything and whether or not you're still writing any "adult" books
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to hear from you! (I remember you too. I think you sat in on the first conversation I had with Chris.) So sorry it took me such a long time to respond to your blog comment. Unfortunately, An Quenchable Fire did not get published. Many editors liked it, but they all generally felt it was a "second novel" not a first. Chris and I amicably parted ways not long ago. I'm continuing to write for adults and am shopping a novel to agents.

I did! Feels like another lifetime. Sorry to hear about An Unquenchable Fire, but I hope something comes out of what you're currently shopping around. I was in publishing until about 2 years ago, but have since moved into philanthropy, which is what more of my focus was toward the end of my publishing career.
