As in, "We'll make it up that icy hill, by gurry!". Did you ever hear that in New England or was that just something she said? I wonder. Either way, both my mom and I still say it. Isn't it facinating how language evolves?
Love,
MaggieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1471107802247799161.post-53786876728169930092010-01-06T10:11:50.858-05:002010-01-06T10:11:50.858-05:00So what do you say if it turns out to be your chil...So what do you say if it turns out to be your children running amok and defacing the city?Duncan McPhersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12331395465704251615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1471107802247799161.post-11090906140707361282010-01-05T08:48:29.275-05:002010-01-05T08:48:29.275-05:00I like that Dutch phrase. My favorite. Mike bought it for me years ago since I am an idiot on idioms. I could go on for hours on the all the ways I have messed them up. We have had so much fun with it. Mike tells me that there is a larger version, but much more expensive. This one is small and reasonable, but maybe you can get the full version on interlibrary loan and loose yourself for weeks.Colleen Bellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14179533544576609963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1471107802247799161.post-9621030713200231882010-01-04T08:21:03.870-05:002010-01-04T08:21:03.870-05:00Hmmmmmmmm. . .Hmmmmmmmm. . .Lukehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03449239210893170230noreply@blogger.com
